How to get from Budapest Airport to Szeged

Budapest Airport is located 170 km from Szeged. Szeged is connected to the Hungarian capital by motorway and railway. There are several ways to get to Szeged from Budapest Airport.

• By train from Ferihegy Railway Station:
  Trains depart to Szeged every 60 min from the Ferihegy Railway Station, located 6.5km from the airport. If you wish to reach your destination via train, you can take the Bus Line 200E or a taxi from Budapest Airport to Ferihegy Railway Station and hop on the train to Szeged. The journey to Szeged lasts approximately 2 hours.
  Bus Line 200E tickets can be purchased through the airport ticket machines or offices, from the bus driver (in cash) or online.
  Railway tickets can be purchased online. Your travel by train is most comfortable if you purchase a seat ticket for the Intercity cars.

• By private transfer arranged by the conference organizers:
  You may indicate your transfer request at the registration site by ticking this option. The arranged transfer will collect you at the airport after arrival and drive you to your hotel in Szeged. The fee of the arranged transfer is 40€. The transfer is payable in cash to the driver on the spot. (Please indicate in advance if you require an invoice.)

Banking and Currency

The local currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF).
Currency exchange facilities are available in most banks, hotels and airports and operate normal business hours. Credit cards are accepted at most restaurants and shops, the most widely used being Mastercard and Visa. Some surcharges may apply for using a credit card. American checks are not accepted.
