Success in the Biology section of the 37th Hungarian National Student Science Study Group Conference

Krisztián Vinga, a second-year MSc Biology student, represented our Department in the Biology section of the 37th Hungarian National Student Science Study Group Conference in Szeged between 15-17 April 2025. We are very proud that Krisztián's presentation was awarded with the second prize in Neuobiology and Neurophysiology 2 section by the jury! Congratulations to the student and the tutors!

Presentations at the 29th Korányi Frigyes Scientific Forum

The XXIX Korányi Frigyes Scientific Forum 2025 was held at the Korányi Frigyes College of Semmelweis University on March 27-28, 2025. As in previous years, the conference provided an opportunity for presentations by students of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and biology involved in undergraduate scientific research. Our department was represented by biology student Sára Pető and medical student Athos Triglianos (English year), who were awarded first and second prizes in the sections of Translational medicine and experimental surgery and Neuroscience. Congratulations to the winners!

The 2025 Conference of the Hungarian Neuroscience Society

The Annual Meeting of the Hungarian Society of Neuroscience (MITT) was held in Debrecen on January 23-24, 2025. The conference is one of the most important events of the Hungarian neuroscience research community. The HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group participated in the conference by organizing two symposia. Dr. Ákos Menyhárt and Dr. Melinda Tóth organized a symposium on "Neurodegeneration: Comorbidity of Alzheimer’s disease and potential therapeutic targets" and Prof. Eszter Farkas and Dr. Szilvia Veszelka chaired a symposium on "Therapeutic potentials of sigma-1 receptor ligands in experimental models of brain diseases".

Participation at the 16th European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease

 

   The 16th European Meeting on Glial Cells in Health and Disease, which is the biannual international conference of Network Glia was organized between July 8-11, 2023 in Berlin, Germany. Dr. Rita Frank and Dr. Eszter Farkas, members of the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group contributed to the meeting with a poster presentation and with an invited symposium talk. Dr. András Dinnyés represented the HCEMM-USZ StemCell Research group with a poster presentation. The goal of Network Glia is enhancing public awareness for the so-called glial cells in the brain, and for diseases related to glial cells.
