Research Essay Award

 

   The Student Science Study Group Board of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School awarded 1st prize to Anna Zsigmond, a 6th-year medical student, for her research competition essay titled „Nimodipine is protective against spreading depolarization and neuronal tissue inflammation”. The work was supervised by Dr. Rita Frank and Prof. Eszter Farkas. Congratulations for the research essay award!

Students’ achievements at the Medical School’s 2024 Student Science Study Group Conference

 

   The students of our Department participated with seven presentations at the 2024 Scientific Student Conference on Medicine and Health Sciences, which took place between 19-22 November 2024. We are very proud that four of the presentations were awarded prizes! The students won one first place, one second place, one third place and one special prize. Participation in the International Conference on Spreading Depolarizaton

 

   The annual "International Conference on Spreading Depolarization (iCSD)" was held this year in Antalya, Türkiye, from 13-17 November 2024. The Department was represented by the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Circulation and Metabolism Research Group with three poster presentations and one oral presentation. The traditionally relaxed atmosphere of the iCSD provides an excellent opportunity for informal scientific discussions between young researchers and experienced professors. The next iCSD conference will take place in 2025 in Windsor, UK.

University Day Award Ceremony

 

   On November 9, 2024, the University of Szeged celebrated its University Day with a Senate meeting and an awards ceremony. According to the tradition, the awards and honors of the University were presented at the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Károly Gulya, professor emeritus of our Department, was awarded with the Medal for Teaching Service. Congratulations!
