On November 9, 2024, the University of Szeged celebrated its University Day with a Senate meeting and an awards ceremony. According to the tradition, the awards and honors of the University were presented at the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Károly Gulya, professor emeritus of our Department, was awarded with the Medal for Teaching Service. Congratulations!
Anna Törteli’s and Rita Frank’s application for the 2024 Mecenatúra call of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office has been positively evaluated. The grants will enable Anna to attend the 32nd International Symposium on Cerebral Blood Flow, Metabolism and Function in June 2025, and Rita to attend The 2025 Gordon Research Conference on Glial Biology: Functional Interactions Among Glia and Neurons in March 2025. Anna Törteli, a young postdoctoral researcher at our Department, has been awarded a travel scholarship to attend the 25th International Conference on Spreading Depolarizations (iCSD). The scholarship is financed by funding iCSD received from the International Society for Cerebral Blood Flow & Metabolism (ISCBFM). The grant will enable Anna to participate in the 25th iCSD, which will be held in Antalya, Türkiye, from November 13-17, 2024. Congratulations!
The Review Panel of the University Research Fellowship Program have funded the research project applications of Dr. Rita Frank assistant professor, and Péter Kozák undergraduate medical student. Their research forms an integral part of the activity of the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group. The aim of the Program is to attract new teachers and researchers to higher education institutions, to support innovative Hungarian companies with research and development personnel, and to involve the most talented students in higher education talent management. In 2024, the National Brain Research Program 3.0 (NAP 3.0) launched a call for proposals to support short study visits of young researchers from consortium members and awarded a grant to Dr. Rita Frank , Assistant Professor, from the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group. Rita has spent the first week of August 2024 in the laboratory of Prof. Christine Rose at the Institute of Neurobiology, Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf.
