“OTKA” Research Grant

 

   An application titled „Mechanisms of glial cytotoxic edema formation: New targets in drug repurposing” submitted by Prof. Eszter Farkas to the 2023 “OTKA” Research Grant call of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office of Hungary has been granted. With the financial support, novel and exciting translational research will be conducted to develop personalized, non-invasive therapies to improve the outcomes of ischemic stroke. Congratulations for the grant support!

Students’ achievements at the Medical School’s 2023 Student Science Study Group Conference

 

   The Student Science Study Group associated undergraduate students of the Department have given six lectures at the Szent-Györgyi Albert Medical School’s 2023 Student Science Study Group Conference. The Conference was organized between November 14-17, 2023. We are very proud that all presentations have been awarded! Two of the presentations have won First Prizes, one presentation won a Second Prize, and three talks have been awarded Third Prizes. National Higher Education Scholarship

 

   The Minister of Education has awarded a National Higher Education Scholarship for the academic year 2023/2024 to outstanding students of higher education institutions. Among the award winners was Péter Mihály Kozák, a student of the Student Science Study Group at the Department and the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group. The aim of the scholarship is to recognize and support with outstanding academic and scientific achievements. Congratulations to the Scholarship winner!

International Conference on Spreading Depolarizations 2023 (iCSD 2023)

 

   The annual meeting of the Co-Operative Studies on Brain Injury Depolarizations (COSBID) was organized between October 2-5, 2023 in Szeged, Hungary. The COSBID group is an international research consortium focused on the role of spreading depolarizations in acute neurologic injury. The HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group was privileged to host the 2023 meeting in Szeged!

Funded research applications to the New National Excellence Program

 

   The Review Panel of the New National Excellence Program of the Ministry of Human Capacities have funded the research project applications of Dr. Rita Frank assistant professor, and Péter Kozák undergraduate medical student. Their research forms an integral part of the activity of the HCEMM-USZ Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism Research Group. Congratulations on the achievement!
