Gábor Barczánfalvi, a second year MSc biology student working on a student science project at our Department has won second prize for his presentation at the 36rd Student Science Study Group Conference, Faculty of Science and Informatics Local Conference, 2022 Spring, Section: Biology II – Neurophysiology. The project supervisor has been Prof. Dr. Károly Gulya. Congratulations for the achievement!
A publication titled „Malignant astrocyte swelling and impaired glutamate clearance drive the expansion of injurious spreading depolarization foci” submitted by our colleague Dr. Rita Frank to the 2022 call for the Stephen W. Kuffler Publication Prize has been awarded. The awards ceremony will take place in the main building of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences this fall. Congratulations for the achievement!
Our Scientific Study Group Students volunteered at the care center for Ukrainian refugees on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. Sarah Samardzic and Sarah Danica Berger, 5th year medical students, as University of Szeged medical team representatives, took care of the Ukrainian refugees from 11 to 15 March 2022. All our appreciation for their self-sacrificing work.

The HCEMM-USZ StemCell Research Group (leaded by Prof. András Dinnyés) is looking for highly motivated laboratory technician. Our growing research team is doing translational research of human induced pluripotent stem cells in the frame of HCEMM (Hungarian Centre for Excellence in Molecular Medicine), that is founded by EU and supported by EMBL.
